Our motto is to "pursue the crown."  In 1 Corinthians 9:25, Paul wrote, "Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever" (NIV).  As athletes, we dedicate countless hours of attention and focus to developing in our sport.  Although we should pursue our passion in athletics with all of our ability, we should equally be pursuing our relationship with God because as Paul writes, the crowns of our sport will not last, but the crown of Christ will last forever.

What this means for us as coaches and players is that we ought to play the game differently than the average baseball player does.  We must buy in to the following values: Hustle, Attitude, and Toughness.  When other teams, parents, umpires, and coaches watch us play, we aspire for them to notice a difference in the way we play the game.  We play for a higher purpose.  We do not take our God-given talents for granted.  We play every pitch as if it were our last.  Our coaches and players hustle on and off the field at all times. We have good attitudes, encourage one another, and respond appropriately both to victory and adversity.  Finally, we play the game with an unrivaled toughness, both physically and mentally.

In the summer of 2023, we plan to pursue 6 tournaments. Our summer program starts late May and runs through mid July.

From a games perspective, our goal is three-fold: Quality facilities, top of the line competition, and exposure to college coaches.

In addition to our schedule listed above, the Kansas City Club Baseball Association that we are a member of hosts a tryout in the winter to determine the best players among a variety of clubs in the Kansas City area. KCCBA members include: Impact Athletes, Midwest Bruins, Cavaliers, Yard Baseball Club, Between the Lines, Natural Baseball Academy, Next Level Baseball, KC Bullets, KC Elite, and Advanced Baseball Academy. This tryout is ran by college coaches who evaluate the players. They then form a KCCBA national team that competes in two additional events: World Wood Bat by Perfect Game in Atlanta, GA and they play a similar all-star team from Wichita at Wichita State University.

17/18U generally practice at Macken from 3-6 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 15/16U generally practice at St. Pius X High School from 6-8 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The cost to play for summer 2023 is 1950.

We also have roaving coaches who help with all the teams at practices and games: Michael Allen, Phil Brennaman, TJ Dailey, Zach Osbahr, Dominick Scudiero, Tanner Nowatzki, and Caleb McClellan.

Our goal is to have 3-4 coaches at each practice and 1-2 coaches at each game.

Our program is open to all players, whether they grew up in the Church or have no faith at all.  We see our role as exposing our players to what a relationship with Christ looks like and how that impacts there lives a young men and athletes.

We attempt to accomplish this through team prayer, bible studies, community service, and fellowship events outside of baseball.

We attempt to get each player at least one start per tournament. What they get beyond that is based on performance and team needs.

We tend to hit 10-11 players in each game.

During our Impact vs. Impact games that we sometimes sub for practices at St. Pius X, we hit the lineup, play guys in various defensive positions, and throw all of our pitchers. Our goal is development midweek and to give guys opportunities to earn more playing time on the weekends in tournaments.

Uniforms are not included in the summer cost. They are purchased separately and tend to run around 200-250 dollars. They should last most players their entire career with IMPACT.

Collegiate recruiting for the most part takes place at camps/showcases that players attend individually versus a team atmosphere.  Moreover, technology has changed the game which allows for coaches to recruit from their home using their tablets, computers, and smart phones.  There is some recruiting that takes place at summer tournaments, but it typically is minimal.  Feel free to read our college commitment stories on our news page to see what our players have done to excel to the next level.

We utilize a ton of video via Pocket Radar and post to Twitter. Moreover, we work with players to assess their goals and give advice on what we feel is realistic.  We help with connecting players with coaches and crafting communication to successfully connect and create future opportunities to perform in front of them.

Ultimately, if a player has the ability to play past high school, they will have the opportunity to keep playing if that's their desire.

Juniors/Seniors

We feel that the fall is a great time for development and recruitment. Therefore, we play most of our games "in-house." We take our entire program and break them into three teams (36-40 players).  They will practice and play against each other over a 6 week period.

Half of the group will practice on Tuesday nights (infielders). The other half will practice on Thursday nights (outfielders).

Practices will be at Oak Park or St. Pius X HS from 5:30-8 pm in August and 5-7:30 pm in September.

A minimum of 3 coaches will be present.

The schedule will run from mid August until the end of September. The cost will be around 875 dollars. Social media will be used to promote players to colleges outside of those in attendance.

• Labor Day Weekend Off
• Saturday, September 10th - Rockhurst University

Freshman and Sophomores

Our incoming freshman and sophomores play a 11-12 game schedule in the fall consisting of 1-2 tournaments at Creekside and supplemented with double headers at St. Pius X HS vs. outside club teams. The cost to play will likely end up around 750 dollars for fall of 2023.

Our players choose from a variety of options to craft their needs throughout the winter months. Options include:

• Open gym monthly memberships through Diamond Club indoor facility in North Kansas City.
• Private lessons.
• 6 week pitcher development program.
• 6 week catcher development program.
• Hitter development program.
• Strength and conditioning with outside agencies.
• Throwing programs with reputable agencies locally in KC.

Our main tryouts for fall 2022 and summer 2023 will take place at Oak Park HS on Monday 7/18 and Thursday 7/21.
